Global Teach-Ins/Outs 2025: Migration is a Social Good and a Human Right

Wednesday, Nov 12, 2025

11:30 AM – 5:00 PM

Around the world, migrants are increasingly stigmatized – labelled as invaders, criminals, and threats to civilization – while scholars who study migration face censorship and repression.

The Migration Scholars Mobilize Network in collaboration with the Zolberg Institute on Migration and Mobility invites students, educators, and community members everywhere to participate in a day of simultaneous Global Teach-ins/Outs under the theme: “A War on Migrants is a War on All of Us; Migration is a Social Good and a Human Right.” This event is led by the Zolberg Student Fellows Fall 2025 cohort.

Inspired by the teach-ins of the 1960s anti-war movement, these gatherings reclaim public and educational space like classrooms, parks, libraries, and places of worship as sites for collective learning, questioning, and solidarity. Rather than lectures or protests, these events are social happenings that bring people together through discussion, art, music, and storytelling to imagine more just and humane futures.
