I am Silviana Cocan. I hold a double doctoral degree in international law from the Faculty of law of the University of Bordeaux (France) and from the Faculty of law of Laval University (Québec, Canada).
During my Ph.D thesis, I worked on judicial dialogue between international bodies protecting human rights in regards to the interpretation of the prohibition of torture and other cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment.
I am currently a postdoctoral researcher at the Faculty of Law of the University of Montréal working on forced migrations, the protection of migrants, refugees and asylum seekers in the context of the pandemic and especially and the guarantee of their economic, social and cultural rights.
