Orsolya Lehotai

Student Fellow

Orsolya Lehotai is a PhD student in Politics at the New School for Social Research. She holds an MA in Gender Studies from the Central European University. Her main research interests are forced migration; identities at the borderlands of Eastern Europe; the EU’s migration and refugee policies; and the gendered, sexualized, and racialized construction of borders and frontiers in post-socialist Hungary, specifically in the media. In her doctoral research, she focuses on the genealogy of being and becoming a public charge, specifically considering the forced migration of the Roma population and homeless people fleeing Hungary.
