Andreína Torres is an Assistant Professor of Urban Studies at Barnard College. She is a cultural anthropologist specializing in urban studies, feminism, and Latin American/Latinx studies. Her research examines welfare politics, grassroots activism, and land struggles in Caracas during the Bolivarian period, as well as Afro-Colombian migration and transnational home-making within the Venezuelan diaspora in the U.S.
