Working Group on Expanding Sanctuary

Sanctuary Working Group

The Working Group on Expanding Sanctuary seeks to create a multi-year initiative blending academic research with grassroots activism designed to improve access to higher education for undocumented youth and other migrants with precarious status, with a particular emphasis on the role of private colleges and universities. The Working Group on Expanding Sanctuary will convene a working group of experts on immigration, public policy, advocacy and the sanctuary movement to discuss the needs of students, faculty, and staff with precarious migration status and create best practices to address these issues at universities across the country and transnationally. By bringing together these experts, we can build on and expand the work that is being done to create an agenda for research, policy and implementation of sanctuary frameworks effectively moving forward.”
