Journalism Fellowship Focused on Immigrants and Immigration
Open to New School Students
• Learn about New York City’s immigrant communities
• Work with media outlets serving immigrant audiences
• Help develop new civic engagement tools for New School students
Immigration Lab, a new initiative of The New School, will be offering a limited number of journalism internships to New School students in the fall 2014 semester. Students will be assigned to a media outlet that focuses on immigrants and immigration and will participate in reporting on people and issues in immigrant communities.
Interns will also be part of an effort to expand the use of journalism as a civic engagement tool for New School students.
These are paid internships and will be awarded on a competitive basis to qualified applicants on both the undergraduate and graduate level. The application will be available in early July at www.fi2w.org. Click on the “Fellowships” tab.
